Doreen Walter called to Glory

Doreen Ann Walter (nee Schoffer) of Pioneer Lodge, Moose Jaw was called home to her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2022 at the age of 87.

She was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan on December 11, 1934 and was raised on the family farm southwest of Ormiston, Saskatchewan.

On December 15, 1950 she married the love of her life Gordon Walter. They resided on the Walter homestead a few years and then moved to Ormiston where they raised their family.

Doreen was an incredible seamstress, she was always sewing clothes for her daughters. She even made Wedding dresses, Bridesmaid dresses and Graduation dresses. She was also very skilled at knitting and crocheting. Her baking was delicious.

In the Fall of 1993, Doreen and Gordon moved to Moose Jaw, where they spent many happy years of retirement. You would often see them walking hand-in-hand getting their daily exercise.

In January of 2020 Doreen needed to go to a long term care facility, where she resided until her passing.

Doreen was predeceased by her parents George and Cora Schoffer, her brothers Leonard and Dwight Schoffer and her sister Marilyn Pidhorny.

Doreen is lovingly remembered by her Husband Gordon, her Daughters Elayne (Ron) Luke and

Colleen (Doug) Pollard, Grandsons Mike Luke and Tim (Vanessa) Luke and her precious Great Grandchildren Brenna Luke and Shane Luke, and her Sister-in-law Eileen Schoffer.

Following Doreen’s wishes there will not be a funeral.

In living memory of Doreen, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
